The study program Didactics of the Czech Language is focused on the scientific education of doctoral students in the field of systematic research of various aspects of the acquisition and education of the Czech language. It deals with the modeling of theoretical concepts based on empirical research of didactic phenomena manifesting primarily in school teaching. The aim of the doctoral study program is to prepare qualified researchers in the field of Czech language didactics. The study program focuses on scientific research and independent creative activity in interconnected areas: 1. acquisition and education of the Czech language as a mother tongue or as a second language,
2. functioning of the Czech language in school pedagogical communication.
Graduates will be prepared with scientific tools to solve current problems of language education and language education at primary and secondary schools, respectively. in the training of Czech language teachers, including the problems of inclusive education.
Study program without specialization.
Entrance examination:
The basic condition is a master's university education, education in the field of Czech language teaching or teaching for the 1st stage of primary school or in teaching philological fields is preferred.
The entrance exam will examine the appropriate professional profile and deep interest in the subject of doctoral studies, knowledge of profile bohemian disciplines, and safe orientation in the linguistic, Lingvo-didactic, and pedagogical basis of the field, ie in linguistic, Lingvo-didactic, and pedagogical literature.
In addition, the following will be required:
- at least minimal professional activity (eg also student work)
- prerequisites for scientific work - vision of own research plan, ability to formulate and defend it (proposal of the research project submitted together with the application)
Evaluation criteria: The candidate can get a maximum of 10 points, the approved number of points for admission is to get a minimum of 7 points.
Admission to Doctoral studies is conditioned by successful completion of a Master's study programme.

The graduate of the doctoral study program Didactics of the Czech Language is equipped with theoretical knowledge and research competencies in the field of didactics of the Czech language. He/she is ready to work in the field of scientific research and higher education. It can be used professionally in scientific-pedagogical and scientific-research workplaces or in key professional positions of lower levels of education.
The graduate of the study program has
- output knowledge of the deepened linguistic basis of subject didactics, development tendencies in the didactics of the mother tongue, the current state of scientific knowledge and methodology of didactic research;
- output skills, especially enhanced ability to work with scientific sources, internalization of ethical principles of scientific work, deepening work habits, ability to identify major didactic problems and solve them by scientific methods, ability to apply theoretical knowledge in the design and organization of research, ability to publish and argue on the scientific forum.
He can work as a researcher in scientific and scientific-pedagogical workplaces, as a teacher of didactics of the Czech language and its subdisciplines, as an author and assessor of curricular and educational materials, etc.
