The entrance procedure must be undergone by each applicant. The entrance examination is held in the form of interview before a board and it checks the student’s capacity for scientific work in the given field and his/her capacity to complete the studies. The board evaluates:
      (1) the applicant’s appropriateness, quality and success in undergraduate studies (syllabus and its passing in Bachelor and Master studies; result of the relevant Final State Examination; any professional experience and publication activity, and ensuing recommendations and requirements for the prospective postgraduate student’s study obligations.
Maximum percentage of score for the whole item – 30 per cent
      (2) the submitted draft abstract, orientation and quality of the proposed doctoral project (applicant’s ability to meaningfully present and discuss the project; his/her sufficient insight into the topic and methods, both routine and prospective; relation of the project to the Supervising Tutor’s scientific and research orientation.
Maximum percentage of score for the whole item – 40 per cent
      (3) the applicant’s ability of immediate reaction to both general and specific questions in the field (according to the focus of the Field Board), as it can be expected in the course of the prospective State Doctoral Examination; possibly his/her orientation in formal and material requirements for preparation to the Individual Study Plan (curriculum) and for co-operation with the Supervising Tutor.
Maximum percentage of score for the whole item – 30 per cent

For the applicants’ evaluation, the 0 to 100 points scale is used, the minimum limit for admission being 50 points, which means that any applicant scoring at least 50 points will be admitted for studies while a score of less than 50 points unambiguously means refusal.
Following the final discussion of the examining board about particular applicants, each member of the board will suggest his/her total score (100 points as maximum). From the scores given by particular board members, the arithmetic mean will be calculated and rounded to a whole number. According to the resulting number of points, the board will make up the final list, stating the standing of all applicants.

The regular date of the entrance exam is: 18th June 2019
