      The doctoral study programme “Theology”, the branch of study “Jewish studies” with standard length of study of four years prepares students for independent scientific research and independent creative activities in the area of Jewish studies. The branch of study enables students to specialize in their profession according to his or her individual study plan. The branch of study develops intellectual legacy of Jewish studies and applies that in the contemporary religious situation of Judaism. The subject of the studies is Jewish history and culture, synagogue liturgy, Jewish religious philosophy, rabbi literature, reading and interpretation of selected texts of Babylonian Talmud and Hebrew language of rabbi texts. The goal of the studies is a scientific preparation of first-rate experts that are capable of independent scientific work in the area of Jewish studies. The branch is not nationally or confessionally defined but interprets Judaism as a religious phenomenon in the historical contexts overlapping into present problems. Learning about spiritual values of Judaism enables students to deepen their understanding of Christianity, primarily its ethics.

      1. Oral interview concerning the dissertation proposal. Subject material will be the dissertation proposal.The formal structure of the dissertation project proposal is detailed in the general terms of the doctoral study (Other Information - Application Forms). The content-related and formal aspects of the proposal will be assessed, as well as the candidate’s ability to present and defend his/her intended research in a critical discussion.
      The maximum possible score is 60 points.
      2. Oral interview concerning the candidate’s specialisation. The scope and profile of the candidate’s specialised interest, the level of knowledge of the subject of Hussite theology in the scope of a final university examination.
      The maximum possible score for this part of the entrance examination is 40 points.
      The maximum possible score for both parts of the entrance examination is 100 points.
      The minimum possible score for both parts of the entrance examination is 80 points.
      According to the maximum number of accepted applicants, the dean will decide on the admission of the candidate/candidates who has/have fulfilled the conditions of the admission procedure and has/have received the highest number of points in the admission exam.
      Entrance examination waiver: impossible.

      A graduate proves detailed knowledge in the area of Jewish studies at contemporary level, knows history of his/her branch of study and is acquainted with contemporary trends in it. He/She is able to acquire new knowledge, analyze it, reflect it critically and interpret it in its specific and interdisciplinary context. He/She has acquired standard scientific level of world language and deepened knowledge of classical language. He/She is able to analyze and interpret Jewish religious texts and use scientific secondary literature. A graduate acquires knowledge and skills in the area of Jewish studies that enable him/her to fulfill themselves in close profession. He/She is prepared for working as a member of the academic staff or a scientific worker in the area of social sciences, a manager in a non-profit, cultural and state organization.
