      Graduates from the course “Physical education and sport” are qualified and have the necessary competence to pursue professional careers in a wide range of activities related to physical education and sports, in sports clubs and athletic institutions, fitness centres, travel agencies, culture and leisure centres, municipal authorities, etc. A balanced structure of compulsory, additional and voluntary credit-earning subjects in social sciences and biomedicine, physical education didactics, selected sports disciplines including a series of regular and related practical training allows students to get thorough understanding of a comprehensive set of professional issues and make an informed choice of their line of study. Graduates from our bachelor courses may continue with advanced “Physical education and sports” studies to earn a masters degree.

      The process of admission is conducted via a postal form. The Admission Committee decides on acceptance or non-acceptance without the applicant’s presence. The decision is based on the complete documents sent by the applicant, or on the results of the applicant’s discontinued studies at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport, Charles University (UK FTVS).

      The applicant is required to send an Application Form and a Letter of Motivation together with: a/ a sport doctor’s confirmation, b/ for the Bachelor study programme – a certificate of educational background, required by the Act on Higher Education (e.g. a national secondary school leaving exam certificate, or a ‘nostrification’ (Czech Republic recognition of secondary education), c/ curriculum vitae and a letter(s) of recommendation for study, d/ internationally recognised certificate(s) proving the applicant’s English language skills.

      The graduate has gained the academic qualification and the required knowledge and comprehension of theories and methods of the study branch, is able to use the knowledge, which have been developed into professional competencies through an accomplishment, in the job as sports instructor, organiser in a sport organisation, etc., is able to develop suitable exercise programmes with the optimal physical and mental strain for different target groups or individuals, is able to collect and evaluate data of clients with help of relevant methods, and present them to the public and specialists in accordance with social, scientific, and ethical aspects.The learning outcomes gained in the subjects of humanities and biomedicine, in the didactics of physical education and sport will enable find a wide range of jobs in the labour market.
