The program focuses on the full range of cardiovascular research. Clinical fields include cardiology, pediatric cardiology, cardiac surgery, angiology, vascular surgery, vascular neurology - as well as related theoretical and preclinical disciplines resp. their parts dealing with cardiovascular research - anatomy, biology, embryology, histology, physiology and pathophysiology, medical chemistry and biochemistry, pathology, pharmacology, microbiology, medical immunology, preventive medicine and epidemiology).
The study program is carried out without specialization

The entrance examination takes the form of an oral interview and verifies the student's eligibility for scientific work in the field and the ability to successfully complete the study. The applicant's expertise in the field and readiness is evaluated by a committee based on the following criteria.
The committee evaluates:
1. originality of the submitted project 0 - 30 points
2. prerequisites for the implementation of the submitted project 0 - 30 points
3. Knowledge of the subject matter of the submitted project 0 - 10 points
4. Demonstrated initial experience with research work (e.g. participation in a student scientific conference, authorship or co-authorship of publications, etc.) 0 - 10 points
5. Active knowledge of English 0 - 10 points
6. Ability to discuss a professional problem 0 - 10 points
Total maximum points 100.
More than 50 points are required to pass the entrance examination. In order to be admitted to full-time study, a candidate must obtain the minimum number of points required to pass the entrance examination and also obtain the minimum number of points required for admission. Admission is decided by the Dean in accordance with Article 5 of Dean's Measure No. 35/2024.

Admission to Doctoral studies is conditioned by successful completion of a Master's study programme.

Readings are recommended by individual potential supervisors, and are based on professional issues of the potential dissertation In particular, monographs and respected IF magazines. Suggested literature and resources can be viewed within the profiles of the specific supervisors.
