Charakteristika kurzu: Dnešní podoba aplikované etnomuzikologie (AEM) zdaleka není jednolitá; představuje spíš – slovy jednoho ze zakladatelů, Jeffa Todda Titona – an ever emergent movement, responding differently at various times and places, by means of music-centered intervention, to different cultures, needs and conditions. (Pettan – Titon 2015: 3) Cílem kurzu je seznámit studenty prostřednictvím textů, videí a dalších materiálů s hlavními oblastmi, v nichž je hudba po celém světě využívána v sociálních intervencích, s přednostmi a limity takových přístupů. Pozornost bude věnována i hudebním intervencím v souvislosti s pandemií Covidu. Na každou lekci čtou studenti jeden klíčový text, po domluvě připravují reference o textech doplňkových. Texty jsou dostupné on-line nebo v sisu.
