A presentation and discussion of where supervision principles and methods fit into modern management methods increasingly used by modern (UK) social services organisations, including performance management, management by objectives and staff appraisal. A more detailed look at how managers should supervise their staff as individuals and teams to achieve optimum performance, with application of some of the methods that can be used e.g. performance management, staff appraisal and personal development plans.
