Possibility and Limit of the Narrative The course resumes the topic of the series, which was dealt with in the winter semester, and continues it from a specific point of view: it examines what the serial has to do with a problematization of the narrative, as it took shape more and more clearly in the course of the 19th century, and not only in Europe, in order to break through completely in the 20th century with the avant-garde. The fundamental question will be to what extent the ruptures of the narrative, which tends to identification, in turn have a narrative meaning and how they can expand our knowledge of the reality of human existence. Examples will be drawn not only from literature, but also from painting, photography, and film.
