The course will introduce the basic research and theoretical approaches that are used in historical-sociological exploration of culture and everyday life. The emphasis will be placed on the advanced analytical insight into the considered issues and on the historical and comparative perspective. With the active participation of students the course will focus on such topics, which introduces the concept of expressive, communication and performative forms, techniques, practices, routines, procedures, habits, social and cultural manifestation. There will be also discussed the historical examples of commonness study of certain social groups and classes. Particular attention will be paid to the development of sociocultural aspects of consumerism and material culture.
