The course will introduce the basic research and theoretical approaches that are used in
historical-sociological exploration of culture and everyday life. The emphasis will be placed on the advanced
analytical insight into the considered issues and on the historical and comparative perspective. With the active
participation of students the course will focus on such topics, which introduces the concept of expressive,
communication and performative forms, techniques, practices, routines, procedures, habits, social and cultural
manifestation. There will be also discussed the historical examples of commonness study of certain social groups
and classes. Particular attention will be paid to the development of sociocultural aspects of consumerism and
material culture.

Studijní předmět seznámí studenty se základními badatelskými a teoretickými přístupy, jež se uplatňují v
historickosociologickém
zkoumání kultury a každodennosti. Důraz při tom bude položen na pokročilý analytický vhled do
zkoumaných problémů a na historicko-komparativní perspektivu. Za aktivní účasti studujících doktorského studia
se
kurz zaměří na taková témata, jaká představují koncepty expresivních, komunikačních a performativních forem,
technik, praxe, rutiny, procedur, habitů, sociální a kulturní manifestace. Budou rovněž probírány historické příklady
studia každodennosti určitých sociálních skupin, tříd a vrstev. Zvláštní pozornost bude věnována vývoji
sociokulturních aspektů konsumerismu a materiální kultury.
