Zveme studenty doktorského studia ke společnému promýšlení sociálně-vědního pohledu na činnosti, které
považujeme – s větší či menší jistotou – za pečování: lékařskou péči, sociální péči, péči o duševní zdraví, a další...
Otevřenost vůči různým, často protichůdným, interpretacím pečování v sociálních vědách chceme podtrhnout
výběrem tří různých okruhů sociologického bádání, z nichž každý bude zastoupen v povinné četbě jedním zásadním
textem. Vedle dvou soudobých proudů sociálně-vědního bádání o pečování – studií péče inspirovaných STS a
feministickou etikou péče a neuro-sociálně-ekologického přístupu Nicholase Rose – klademe “klasickou”
interakcionistickou sociologii organizací, jež se v dílech svých předních představitelů – Hughese, Beckera a
Goffmana – podrobně zaobírala také “pečujícími” organizacemi.
Návrh témat / záležitostí péče:
• Propojení etiky péče, pragmatické filosofie a etnografického zájmu o pečování;
• normativita (etiky) péče a její setkávání s etnografickými daty;
• objektivita vědění založeného na pečování o konkrétní zájmy (zájmy konkrétních lidí, institucí, organizací
atd.); následování aktérů a/vs teorie stanoviska; partikulární a mnohočetné starostlivosti;
• studia péče a studia postižení; vztahy (vzájemné) závislosti; ne/závislost a zajištění přístupu k adekvátní
péči; péče a zmocňování (empowerment);
• péče o sebe – co znamená pečovat o sebe a o někoho/něco jiného (a o sebe tím, že pečuji o
někoho/něco jiného);
• důvěra a odpovědnost jako předpoklady a důsledky starostlivosti odvíjející se ve vztazích vzájemné
závislosti.
Cílem předmětu “Sociální studia péče” je především představit sociálně-vědní studium pečování/starostlivosti jako
jeden z možných pohledů na situaci dnešního světa, jako jednu z možností, jak hledat odpověď na otázku, o co
bychom se měli – jakožto lidé a badatelé – starat především, pro koho a s kým.
