The course presents the phenomenon of Western "classical"/art music in the historical, as well as anthropological perspective. The time-span between the late 18th and the end of the 20th Century is discussed (see the sylabus). Preliminary knowledge of basic music theory is an advantage, not a condition for the participation in this course.

Předchozí hudebně teoretické vzdělání je výhodou, ne podmínkou.
