Theoretical introduction to the field of sports medicine. The importance of relations between physical activity and health in all phases of life is emphasize. The subject acquaints students with choice of moving activities, health risks of sport, sport in extreme conditions, exercise prescription in conditions of acute and chronic diseases, possibilities of health prevention, diagnostics, exercise tests.

1. Sports medicine - Introduction, conception and content. Vztah zdraví a pohybové aktivity.

2. Medical examination in sports medicine. Examination of posture, spine, joints. Assessment of

body composition.

3. Cardiovascular system examination. Exercise tests.

4. Injuries during physical education and sport. Prevention. Sudden death in sport. Overuse

(chronic) injuries. Doping.

5. Sports in extreme conditions. Health questions of sports with extreme load.

6. Sport questions - children, woman, and elderly. Prevention of health damage.

7. Physical activity in persons with cardiovascular and respiratory diseases, locomotor system

diseases, epilepsy, diabetes etc. Physical activity in persons with specific needs.
