The subject presents a comprehensive outline of the education of mentally handicapped individuals. It gives the definition of mental retardation, classifies and characterises the mentally handicapped person's personality, solves problems of his/her adaptation and socialisation, presents methods of detection of a disease, diagnostics and educational care of the mentally handicapped.
