Massage refers to the systematic manipulation of the soft tissues of the body for therapeutic purposes. Sports massage is a specific application of massage. It is the science and art of applying massage and related techniques to maintain the health of the athlete and to enhance athletic performance. Students will learn the basic principles of regeneration, its types and application, various types of massage techniques and they will practically master the full body conditioning massage.

The aim of the course is to acquaint students with individual massage techniques and teach them basic massage procedures for individual areas of the body.
Competencies: Students will know different types of sports massage, their effects, indication and contraindications, massage procedures for specific parts of a body.

Learning outcomes:

Student:

-       correctly describes and demonstrates the procedures of sports massage on the following body parts: neck, back, leg from both sides, arm.

-       lists contraindications of sports

-       lists the means used for sports massage (massage means), indicate which massage they are suitable for and how the individual means differ.
