The examination takes place at a clinical workplace. The student performs a complete examination of the patient from the physiotherapist's point of view, and on the basis of the examination, student proposes therapy goals and therapeutic procedures, which are subsequently applied. The student demonstrates knowledge and skills based on the content of the following courses: Demonstration - Clinical Practice I and II, Specialized Practice in Clinical Settings I and II, Clinical Colloquium I and II, Internship in Physical Therapy Practice, Related Professional Practice, Applied PNF Techniques, and Taping in Physical Therapy.

PSZZ247 - Practical State Exam Applied Physiotherapy 

In the practical examination, the student demonstrates in-depth knowledge and skills in complex work with patients, corresponding to the level of specialized competence of a physiotherapist. 

Organization and conduct of the practical part of the final state exam

The student shall attend the designated clinical workplace at the date and time communicated in the electronic invitation sent out via SIS. 

The student will report for the practical part of the final state exam in complete white clothing and equipped with examination aids, unless otherwise specified. 

The practical examination normally lasts 1 hour (60 minutes) and is as follows: 

The committee gives the student a diagnosis of the patient and introduces the student to the patient. This is followed by 30 minutes during which the student works independently with the patient. It is up to the student to use the time to take anamnestic data, examine the patient and start therapeutic procedures. The 30 minutes are followed by the actual exam, usually also lasting 30 minutes, during which:  

  1. the student introduces the patient to the committee and provides a summary of the patient's anamnestic data; 
  2. the student presents a complete differential diagnostic analysis of the patient's clinical condition; 
  3. the student articulates the conclusion of the examination reached during the preparation with the patient; 
  4. given the conclusion of the examination, the student presents the goals of therapy and a proposal for therapeutic procedures from the physiotherapy perspective, including their rationale; 
  5. according to the committee's assignment, the student demonstrates the diagnostic and therapeutic procedures he/she has used or proposed for the patient and answers questions posed by the committee. 

At the end of the examination, the student submits his/her written notes to the committee, which are filed in the examination report. The committee shall conduct an evaluation of the examination immediately following the examination in a closed discussion. When it proceeds according to the criteria (introduction of the patient, communication and approach to the patient; summary of the history; performance of differential analysis; formulation of the conclusion of the examination; determination of the goals of therapy; demonstration of examination procedures; demonstration of therapeutic procedures; determination of self-therapy, suggestion of physical therapy). The evaluation will be shared with the student immediately following the closed discussion.
