The aim of the course is to teach students how to find and present information on current research topics in selected sports. Topics include the latest findings with application to the management of sports training, as well as new technologies and methodologies with subsequent application in specific sports. The selection of topics is adjusted annually according to current needs.

Topic 1 - Health aspects of individual sports

Typical injuries and how to prevent them, how rules address the safety of the athlete and the environment, medical fitness guidelines at national and international level; material and equipment requirements

Football, rugby, hockey, cycling, skiing (with the possibility of specifying the discipline), combat sports, athletics, swimming, gymnastics


Topic 2 - Marketing and spectator potential in sports

Rules and their changes with regard to spectator attraction; spectator potential of the sports sector; organisational adjustments to competitions; options for improvement; presentation of own proposals for adjustments to the organisation's rules, etc.

Theme 3 - presentation of the current level of knowledge and current trends in specific topics

Fundamental movement skills; modern technology in training and sport; strength training for children (up to 15 years); training and development of decision-making processes in sports play/individual sport; traditional vs. modern approach in sports training
