The subject is aimed at deepening students' knowledge in the field of biomechanics of swimming movement, diagnostics of swimming performance (rebound speed, swimming, number of strokes, frequency of strokes, length of swimming stroke, speed of swimmer's movement, time of swimming sections, finish), performance level testing, speed of reaction, reflection abilities, circulatory and respiratory parameters in specialized laboratories.

The aim of the course is for students to be able to interpret what happens to a swimmer in the water, how the water environment affects him and vice versa. He should learn how to approach the diagnosis of swimming performance, which is different from the diagnosis of technique, and in the final stage it is important for the coach to know what methods of testing functional parameters in laboratories and in practice they can use.

By completing the subject, the student will deepen his knowledge of the biomechanics of swimming movement, understand the physical principles on which movement in water takes place. They will also learn to work with a video camera below and above the surface in the process of making a video recording followed by processing the recorded movement using software such as Dartfish or Kinovea. They will learn to analyze technical errors and also what technical exercises to use to eliminate these errors. The student will also learn to analyze swimming performance. This analysis is different, and the student will be able to prepare a test environment, make a video recording, calculate the frequency of shots, measure the times in individual sections of the measurement and be able to calculate the values of the swimming step.
