This course is focused on the issue of human resources management and presents basic concepts such as personnel planning, selection of employees, training, evaluation, and remuneration. At the same time, it focuses on the specifics of the sports environment and the application of given theoretical concepts to sports practice. In addition to solving problems that a sports manager may encounter, the course introduces the basic rules and pitfalls of the labor market and offers strategies for occupying various positions in the sports environment. The most emphasis in the seminars is put on the current problems that may be related to the transformation of the labor market based on the development of artificial intelligence, ethical issues surrounding work in sports, etc.

Completing this course, students are supposed to be able to: 

-       Describe the basic principles of human resource management, including managerial functions and activities

-       Identify the specifics of human resource management in sports in general and in individual sport organizations

-       Apply basic ethical principles based on the ethics of managerial work and management diversity during work in a sport environment

-       Perform a job position analysis and create a job description based on it

-       Identify the elements of the misconduct and know the procedure for possible correction

-       Apply the principles of personnel planning in practice and proceed conceptually in the case of employee compensation and evaluation

-       Create a structured CV, as well as infer from CV applicants whether they are potentially suitable for a given job position

-       Proactively create, or seek learning and growth opportunities

-       Conduct admission and evaluation interviews, or know, choose, and apply another appropriate method for a specific situation

-       Plan and implement team building

The seminars are based on the material discussed in the lectures and apply the basic principles to the sports environment, emphasizing topicality.
