In this bachelor course, students meet with the basic terminology and principles in human motor development applied in physical education and sport. Motor development is, therefore, present from both phylogeny and ontogeny perspectives. The terminology milestone with deeper description represents motor abilities, motor skills, somatic typology and biological maturation. Students will acquire, at least theoretically, the relevant diagnostic approaches to each of these constructs.

The aim of the course is to acquire basic knowledge in the field of motor abilities, motor skills, somatometry and motor development including diagnostics and data processing.
The student is competent upon completion of the course:
Understand the terminology of motor aptitude, testing and measurement and somatotyping and actively use it in the educational and training process,
select and use appropriate tools for motor aptitude diagnosis and testing; identify problems that may arise in motor aptitude diagnosis and testing,
statistically process the measured data and interpret them,
determine and interpret a motor profile,
determine the somatotype and evaluate it,
apply laterality issues in the educational and training process,
understand the differences between biological and calendar age and be able to evaluate motor expressions based on biological age.
