English/German teaching concentrates primarily on understanding and interpretation of specialized language texts. The course aims to enlarge the students’ language competence skills in the field management of sport and physical education.

1.       Expand English professional vocabulary in the areas of sport organization, sport management, sport marketing, public relations and social media.

2.       Comprehend complex English texts on sport organization, sport management, sport marketing, public relations and social media.

3.       Analyze English case studies on sport organization, sport management, sport marketing, public relations and social media.

4.       Brainstorm possible solutions to case studies assigned.

5.       Find similarities and differences between sport organization, management, marketing, public relations and social media in other contexts and the Czech sport context.

6.       Hypothesize potential applications from the case studies covered to the Czech sport context.

  • Regular attendance at seminars. 2 lesson absences within a semester are tolerated. To compensate for the 3rd and 4th absence at a lesson, the student will be given substitutive assignment by the course teacher. 5 or more absences do not meet basic requirements for being granted credit, the only exception being individual study scheme.

  • Oral presentation of a selected professional topic during the semester, involving practical demonstrations (approx. 10 minutes; written preparation of the presentation based on reference sources in the relevant foreign language).
