English/German teaching concentrates primarily on the work with specialized professional texts, especially their understanding and interpretation, and on the development of communication skills in the subject field.

Understanding and interpretation of specialized texts from the field od physical education and sport. Development of the skill to communicate in the subject field. Attainment of the competence level related to receptive/productive activities and strategies defined as B1.1; a B1.1 lexical competence level according to the CEFR.

  • Regular attendance at seminars. 2 lesson absences within a semester are tolerated. To compensate for the 3rd and 4th absence at a lesson, the student will be given substitutive assignment by the course teacher. 5 or more absences do not meet basic requirements for being granted credit, the only exception being individual study scheme.

  • Oral presentation of a selected professional topic during the semester, involving practical demonstrations (approx. 7 minutes; written preparation of the presentation based on reference sources in the given foreign language).

In order to design a language course focusing on professional languages, it is absolutely necessary to take into account language teaching aspects as well, which is reflected in the number of topics covered throughout the specific course.

For the pursposes of distance learning, the basis of our joint successful work is also the use of standard textbooks, or other sources, listed under the link "literature".

In order to meet the learning objectives and your expectations, we will use a combination of all available and permissible communication channels when teaching foreign languages, namely the MS Teams platform, the correspondence method, consultations and ongoing verification of your language competence.
