The Basic Czech Course of two teaching hours per week aims to provide a rudimentary communicative competence in Czech. Students will learn Czech pronunciation and grammar (e. g. essentials of the declension, conjugation, the present, past and future tenses og Czech verbs), as well as selected vocabulary topics (introducing oneself, finding the way around the city, making a phone call, doing the shopping, ordering at a restaurant, understanding signs and notices, becoming familiar with numbers and clocks, essential phrases and facts from university life, etc.). Students are permitted a maximum of three unexplained absences, other absences from seminars are to be explained by doctorś certificate or petition in writing.

Kurz českého jazyka pro studenty mezinárodního programu ERASMUS+ navazuje na kurz PJAZ 130, navštěvovat ho však mohou i studenti, zejména slovanského původu, s elementárními znalostmi jazyka. Obvykle sestává z 13 lekcí po 90 minutách. Počet lekcí je dán harmonogramem příslušného akademického roku. Výuka je zaměřena zejména na ústní interakci v každodenních situacích a na osvojení základní oborové terminologie (lidské tělo; vybraná sportovní odvětví). V průběhu kurzu si studenti upevní získané znalosti a dovednosti a osvojí další gramaticko-lexikální jevy.
