Upon completing the course, a student will acquire fundamental theoretical and practical knowledge, particularly in the areas of planning, leading, teaching, and pre-exercising group fitness classes.

The student will be able to:

Describe the basic components of an aerobics class applicable in fitness studios.

Plan a physical education unit with an aerobics focus using the interval training method.

Describe, cue, and perform basic aerobics steps and their variations.

Select suitable music accompaniment (based on age, participants' fitness level, training goals, and chosen aerobics steps) and distinguish between counts, master beats, measures, and musical phrasing.

Construct a logical choreography sequence from individual aerobics steps, also known as an aerobics block (typically 8 counts or 32 beats).

Document, diagram, and teach the created sequence.

Develop pedagogical competencies necessary to lead a group exercise class with music. This includes commencing and concluding the exercise, working with musical phrasing, and providing timely cues for participants.

Verbally communicate with participants during instruction using clear, timely, and appropriate voice projection.
