The aim of the course is to acquire basic knowledge of ergonomics as a field of study, but mainly of ergonomic aspects important for the performance of the medical profession. Practical training is aimed at acquiring skills that can be applied both to the exercise of the profession of a physiotherapist with respect to himself and to the mentoring of patients and family members. Ergonomics is an inter-disciplinary branch dealing with the position of an individual in both the occupational and extra occupational areas and with health protection, mainly in working conditions. Information of ergonomics elementals and special problems of rehabilitation ergonomics, or solutions of occupational and extra occupational conditions of handicapped people.

Learning Outcomes:

The aim of the course is to provide students with the knowledge, skills and general competencies so that after the completion of the course the students:

  • demonstrate a basic understanding of ergonomics as an interdisciplinary field, important for the performance of the medical profession
  • demonstrate the ability to evaluate working and non-working conditions in relation to the risks of damage to the locomotor system
  • demonstrate the ability to recommend basic modifications of the workplace from the ergonomics point of view and in relation to the prevention of damage to the locomotor system
