The aim is to get acquainted with the basic chapters of paediatrics and to present the latest news. Significant are also manifestations of individual diseases in the musculoskeletal system. Study of physiological and pathological function in neonates and children. Evaluation and treatment of cardiopulmonary, metabolic, muscle and neural disorders is introduced with focus on neonatal and child physical therapy. Application to clinical situations will be incorporated where indicated.

Learning Outcomes:

The aim of the course is to provide students with the knowledge, skills and general competencies so that after the completion of the course the students:

  • demonstrate knowledge of the normal development and growth of the child
  • demonstrate knowledge and are able to describe the etiology, pathophysiology and clinical manifestations of neuromuscular, musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, respiratory, infectious and other diseases typical of childhood
  • are equipped with basic knowledge of diagnostic and therapeutic approaches to diseases in childhood
