The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the integration of physiotherapy into the overall health care system in the Czech Republic, with the system of general health insurance with its organization and legislative standards that define it. Furthermore, the course focuses on basic management and quality management of health services. The practical part is carried out at workplaces (pensions for seniors), where it is possible to apply knowledge from the theoretical part and where students learn to establish first contact with patients. The emphasis in teaching is devoted to occupational safety issues in health and social care systems and work with health documentation.

Learning Outcomes:

The aim of the course is to provide students with the knowledge, skills and general competencies so that after the completion of the course the students:

  • demonstrates knowledge of the principles of integrating physiotherapy into the overall health care system in the Czech Republic
  • demonstrates the ability to orientate in the system of general health insurance with its organization and legislative standards that define it
  • demonstrates the ability to orientate oneself in the management of the quality of health care provision, personal data protection and GDPR
  • demonstrate knowledge of patient’s rights and physiotherapists codex
  • demonstrates knowledge of the overview of spa care
  • demonstrates knowledge of the system of pre- and postgraduate education in physiotherapy and knowledge of professional organizations of physiotherapists
  • demonstrates an understanding of the principles of occupational safety in the system of health and social services
