The content of the course are basic topics related to the structure and behavior of the human locomotor system, his tolerance to intense exercise and hypokinesia. Selected problems of pathobiomechanics.
Aim of the course -
Last update: doc. Ing. Monika Šorfová, Ph.D. (26.09.2023)

The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the tools and methods of biomechanics for the evaluation and education of movement tasks. He also notices possible pathological effects.

Student skills
• The student will describe the structures of the movement system, both passive structures (bone, ligaments, cartilage, intervertebral disc, etc.) and active nerve-muscle-tendon complex.
• Explains the kinematic links of joints in the trunk, lower and upper limb regions.
• Formulates the consequences of Newton's laws and uses them to predict movement in various sports applications
• Understands and is able to represent and categorize the rheological behavior of individual components of the movement system.
• Is able to describe the behavior of individual tissue complexes of the movement system in situations of individual sports activities
• The student is able to expand and update his knowledge based on the Evidence-Based Medicine approach.

Student competence
• Uses acquired knowledge and skills to decide on the choice of a variant solution to movement specifics of various sports activities
• Can justify, revise and oppose the used training procedures in order to optimize them and protect the athlete's health
