This course deals with the application of laws of solid mechanics to individual components of the human movement system. It explains the principles of motion kinetics analysis and its description by basic quantities and their relationship. It describes biokinematical pairs, which represent mechanical substitution of bonding conditions and relationships between mutually articulating segments, which define their relative mobility (degree of freedom, character of movement, etc.) in terms of kinematics. It describes body mass geometry, kinematic and dynamic characteristics of internal and external human musculoskeletal relationships, with a particular aspect of the muscular system.
Aim of the course -
Last update: doc. Ing. Monika Šorfová, Ph.D. (27.09.2023)

As a follow-up to high school physics, to provide students of the field of Orthotics and Prosthetics with initial knowledge of biophysics, which in the subsequent biomechanical part will be used to explain the core principles of the biomechanics of the human musculoskeletal system

Skills

· Describes and assesses the behavior of various tissues of the locomotor system in the basic features of the mechanics of flexible bodies

· Distinguish and justify what kind of movement a body performs with respect to another body

· Assesses the degrees of freedom of the body system within the lower and upper limbs and the axial system

· Solves various variants of problems and tasks of the relationship between speed, path and time, including drawing and analyzing a graphical representation of the dependence v = f (t), s = f (t), s = f (v)

· Formulates the consequences of Newton's laws and uses them in predicting changes in body movement in practical situations.

Competence

· will assess the selection of appropriate methods and procedures for processing data from basic analytical methods of the locomotor system

Based on the analysis of the problem, give recommendations for the therapeutic procedure
