Students will learn about specific educational problems in school, indiscipline, disciplinary offences and their various manifestations. They will also analyze the causes or factors that contribute to their emergence and development, various approaches, means and methods by which these phenomena in schools can be prevented or subsequently solved.

Course Objectives:

  1. The learner will characterize the causes and circumstances of problem behavior in children and adolescents.
  2. The student will analyze model situations of educational problems of students in the school setting, propose possible solutions, and demonstrate knowledge of disciplinary measures defined by law and recommended procedures for their imposition.
  3. Demonstrates knowledge of prevention strategies and institutional forms of assistance.

Learning outcomes:

Students:

  • Using knowledge of risk behaviors, describe the contexts of problem behaviors and acts of insubordination in contemporary schools.
  • Suggests possible approaches to problem behavior and solutions to selected educational problems, and argues for the choice of approaches.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the process of forming and working with rules in the school environment and the use of rewards and punishments.
  • Defines in the correct context the terms: school rules, educational measures, disciplinary measures.
  • Explains and argues the recommended procedures for awarding disciplinary measures in the school setting, listing the bases in legislation for making the award decision.

Předmět má 3 kredity dle ECTS, celková časová zátěž studenta odpovídá 75 hodinám. Doba očekávané přípravy na 1 hodinu semináře 30 minut, samostudium literatury (za celý semestr) 20 hodin, práce se studijními materiály (za celý semestr) 20 hodin, plnění průběžných úkolů (za celý semestr) 20 hodin.  Příprava na zápočet 15 hodin.
