The subject presents selected topics from social gerontology with special attention to pedagogical aspects of this issue. Attention is paid to the position of seniors in contemporary society, education to intergenerational understanding and questions of preparation for old age. Factors influencing the quality of life and health of seniors in our population are analyzed in detail.

The aim of the course is to increase the sensitivity of students to problems and needs of aging and elderly people and to acquaint them with the possibilities of supporting the quality of life of these people (with special regard to the issue of education).
