The course will focus on the development of literature from the postmodern era to the present. Regarding Germany, the course will examine the changing political climate in relation to current literature. The focus will be on the work of German, Austrian and Swiss authors, as well as authors of migrant literature, including writers with Czech or Slovak roots.
The emphasis will be mainly on prose, or novel and short story works. Literary works will be compared with film adaptations where possible. Attention will also be paid to authors represented in textbooks used in schools with the educational output Das deutsch (österreichische) Sprachdiplom. The following topics are the starting point; one of the works offered will be analysed each time.

Kurs se zaměří na vývoj literatury od doby postmoderny až po současnost. V Německu pak na zachycení proměny politického klimatu v souvislosti s aktuální tvorbou. V centru pozornosti se ocitne tvorba německých, rakouských i švýcarských autorů, dále autorů migrantské literatury včetně spisovatelů majících české nebo slovenské kořeny.
Důraz bude kladem především na prózu, respektive na románovou a povídkovou tvorbu. Literární díla budou podle možností komparována i s filmovým zpracováním. Pozornost bude věnována rovněž autorům zastoupeným v učebnicích používaných ve školách s výstupem Das deutsch (österreichische) Sprachdiplom. Výchdiskem jsou dále uvedená témata, analyzováno bude vždy jedno z nabídnutých děl.
