The aim of the course is to provide students an insight into the development of German drama from the 17th century to the present day. For the individual epochs, it will not only be about presenting their specifics and contribution to the development of German drama, but also about monitoring their relevance for contemporary dramatic creation. The main form of the seminar will be not only the interpretation of texts, but also the analysis of examples recorded on the media, or the analysis of currently presented performances. Participation in the Prague Theater Festival of the German Language is also regular. The first part of the seminars and lectures, which follows on from the literary disciplines of the bachelor's study, is devoted to the theoretical interpretation of developmental tendencies in German drama in the context of overall literary development and against the background of European political and spiritual events. The second part of the seminars will deal with modern drama from naturalism to postmodernism and the analysis of specific examples from contemporary stage practice. Content orientation of the seminar: Aesthetic acquisition and analysis of selected dramatic works. Developing communicative skills in relation to literary and cultural topics. A basic overview of current theater events. Watching different ways of current interpretation of classical works in our country and around the world.
