The subject is focused on the contemporary trends in the Czech Republic and abroad in the field of hearing prosthetics, rehabilitation and education of hearing impaired individuals and the quality of their lives. The course maps contemporary researches and studies dealing with users of cochlear implants of various age groups and developing their communication skills with overlapping into other science disciplines medicine, psychology, linguistics, audiology or biomedical engineering.
