The course provides students with basic knowledge about the important nutrients contained in food, deals with composition of foods of plant or animal origin, and on energy intake of nutrition. Individual nutrients are discussed and their basic metabolic processes in the body. In the article are discussed the current dietary recommendations and on that occasion the emphasis is put on education on proper nutritional and dietary habits. The aim of the course is to explain students the basic concepts of the field of nutrition, to acquaint them with the main food ingredients, dietary practices, and the principles of rational nutrition. During lessons the students will become acquainted with some of the diseases related with improper way of eating.

The aim of the course is to explain students the basic concepts of the field of nutrition, to acquaint them with the main food ingredients, dietary practices, and the principles of rational nutrition. During lessons the students will become acquainted with some of the diseases related with improper way of eating.

Credit requirements: for successful completion of the credit the student has three attempts (one regular and one correction term). The proper term and the first correction term of the approval will be implemented in written form, the second correction term of the approval will be in the form of an oral examination.
