The aim of the course is to introduce students to the basic concepts of the German economic language and to provide an introduction to professional communication in the field of economics. By working with professional texts and discussion, students will acquire the basics of professional vocabulary in the given field of professional communication. The course content consists of ten topics: unemployment, reduction in production and profits, depression, inflationary spiral, economic distribution system: wholesale versus retail, banking and finance, trade (buying, selling and complaints), reading economic texts from newspapers or magazines, examples from economic history, business cycle, market, wages, retail, environment, tourism, foreign trade.
