Learning outcomes of the course unit The aim of the course is to extend the theoretical and above all practical skills of students in foreign language teaching. Students will be acquainted with basic teaching materials for elementary and secondary schools on the current market and after the course they will be able to critically evaluate teaching materials in terms of curriculum requirements and in terms of their use in practice. They present and analyze short communicative activities, analyze video recordings of lessons and use the already acquired basic linguistic-terminology. They learn to choose appropriate organizational forms of teaching, to work with textbooks and teaching aids, to include didactic language games in teaching. The content of the course is: Teaching materials suitable for German. Language textbooks and their analysis. Organizational forms of work. Exercise typology. Didactic language games. Project Teaching. At the same time, students will be able to follow these topics as part of the compulsory optional assistantship in schools. The course has been taught in German.
