The course presents essential paradigms of health promotion in relation to the profession of special educator. It deals with the issues of health literacy and its development priority. Education towards healthy lifestyle is considered intentional creating of opportunities to identify possible ways to promote health and the starting point for necessary behavior changes. The course is based on WHO Programme ('Health 2020'), the expected outcomes defined by Human and Health Curriculum and National strategy of primary risk behavior prevention of pupils. It analyses health determinants in the context of personal and professional needs of special educator

The aim of the course is to develop students' competences in the field of health promotion, motivate them to initiate health-related behavior changes and provide professional orientation in Education towards healthy lifestyle within the Czech education system
