The purpose of this subject is to introduce basic theoretical concepts and approaches to devise gender identities and diversities, the conceptual outline of contemporary feminism (humanistic, differential and poststructuralistc approaches), the practical application of gender approach in the interpretation of relational and communication problems in families. Gender is presented in historical context (gender and family structure in the examples of historical periods and from the view of contemporary family partnerships (restructuralization of traditional roles, social and economical context of changes.)

1. Social construction of gender, constructivist conception.

2. Discourse on the difference between men and women (evolutionary perspective), psychological development of a woman and new theories of the development of men in evolutionary and psychological approach.

3. Carnality and sexuality, complementary conception of an individual, imagination regarding the body, experiencing the body, construing feminineness and masculineness.

4. Alternative forms of families and partnerships from the gender and health perspective and illness from the gender perspective.

5. Feminist theories and their incorporation ino modern theoretical thinking (humanistic, differentiating and poststructuralist feminism).
