The course provides an overview of different types of evaluation in education including their advantages and disadvantages. On the macro level, it focuses on international comparative studies in education (PISA, TIMSS, CIVED etc.), statistical indicators of the Czech public sector of education and national testing of students leaving upper-secondary school and testing of pupils during their compulsory school attendance. On the micro level, the attention is paid to forms and functions of assessments and evaluation of children in classroom process with the stress on the construction and the use of achievement tests.

The aim of the course is that students acquire the ability to characterize different types of evaluation in education including their advantages and disadvantages. On the macro level, they critically evaluate the Czech public sector of education based on their knowledge about international comparative studies in education, statistical indicators of education and national testing of students. On the micro level, they use different forms and functions of assessments and evaluation of children in classroom process and construct and use achievement tests.

Zápočet

  • setavení pojmové mapy v nějakém softwaru určeném pro pojmové mapování (např. CmapTools) na téma: Jak lze hodnotit výsledky ve vzdělávání?

Zkouška

  • 60 % výsledné známky tvoří ústní zkouška, 40 % tvoří seminární práce
  • ústní zkouška se skládá ze dvou částí - a) dvě otázky z teorie probrané na přednáškách a b) počítačové zpracování dat, která mohou být získána po zadání didaktického testu určité skupině studentů
  • seminární práce s tématem týkajícího se hodnocení výsledků ve vzdělání

  • International comparative studies in education - organizations conducting these studies, studies TIMSS and PISA and comparison of their goals, testing population and test items, results of Czech students in reading, scientific and mathematical literacy.
  • Statistical indicators of Czech public sector of education.
  • National testing of students - upper-secondary school leaving examination and testing of pupils during their compulsory school attendance.
  • Assessment and evaluation of pupils in the classroom process - forms and functions.
  • Achievement tests - types of achievement tests, types of test items, construction of achievement test, characteristics of test items - difficulty, sensitivity and analysis of distractors, validity and reliability of test - formulas for their computation, test standardization, examples of standardized tests, models for comparison of tests.
