In the theoretical part, students master degree biology teacher is familiar with the general characteristics and stratigraphy of the Paleogene, Neogene and Quaternary. Become familiar with alternating climate changes, temperature fluctuations, fluctuations in sea level, the migration of organisms, changes in landforms and Quaternary extinctions of flora and fauna. In practice, practice the knowledge of Quaternary sediments and fossils and development of nature and human cultures during the Quaternary, with a focus on the Czech Republic.

V teoretické části se studenti magisterského studia učitelství biologie se známí s obecnou charakteristikou a stratigrafií paleogénu, neogénu a kvartéru. Seznámí se se střídáním klimatických změn, teplotních výkyvů, kolísání hladiny oceánů, migrací organismů, změn reliéfu a kvartérním vymíráním flory a fauny. Prakticky se procvičí znalost sedimentů a zkamenělin kvartéru a vývoj přírody a lidských kultur během kvartéru, a to se zaměřením na Českou republik.
