This course folows the subject Quality of Life and Health in the Old Age I and focuses on issues of social gerontology of final stages of human life. Presented in particular are issues of dying and death in the context of the family as well as wider society.

The course aims to provide students with basic knowledge of thanatology and highlight the challenges of professionalization of care for the dying and death taboo in our society.
