The course will introduce students to the issues of early care abroad and especially in Europe. It will focus on the history and development of early care in the European and world context. Early care will be presented as a problem of social and educational policy. The main focus will be on institutional care for young children and its organizational and legislative conditions. Students will be acquainted with methods and forms of social, pedagogical and health care for families and small children in an international context. Learning outcomes of the course unit The aim of the course is to open up some basic questions of systemic setting of early care abroad, to reflect the situation in the Czech Republic on the background of the development of institutional care for young children in Europe and to outline models and perspectives for its future development.
