The subject provides basic information regarding ensuring the safety and health protection of pupils in schools and school facilities. The issue of health protection is presented from legal, hygienic and pedagogical points of view. The content consists of the theory and practice of providing pre-medical first aid.

The aim of the course is to equip students with theoretical knowledge and practical skills that will enable them to provide extended lay first aid with confidence and to teach them to avoid the most common mistakes when providing first aid. The student can apply knowledge and skills in saving life. He is motivated to continuously renew and consolidate the acquired knowledge and skills.

1. Basic terms for health protection. 2. Extraordinary events. Basic instructions for the population in the event of an emergency. The most common emergencies at school and their solutions. 3. Operation of the Integrated Rescue System. 4. First aid - definition of pre-medical first aid, priorities, rules, goals. 5. Basic examination. Life saving performances - guidelines. 6. First aid for stopping bleeding, including wound treatment. 7. Stabilized position. Spine injuries, fractures, joint injuries. 8. Burns, scalds, electric shocks. Heatstroke, heatstroke, frostbite and hypothermia. 9. Collapse and shock states. Insect stings, snake bites, bites. 10. First aid for selected diseases and injuries.
Course completion requirements -

Completion of the course requires active participation in classes. Completion consists of a test and a practical exam, where the student demonstrates the practical application of theoretical knowledge in a simulated situation. 3 attempts can be used to pass the credit test.
