The course acquaints students with the fundamental concepts of leisure pedagogy. Educational aspects of leisure activities in the context of child and adolescent personality development, as well as educational aspects of lifestyle, are analyzed and discussed. Special attention is given to the social dimension of leisure and its content. The course is viewed as a learning process about the importance of leisure and the provision of leisure activities in various environments.

The main objective of the course is to present leisure pedagogy as a significant tool for positively influencing the quality of life. The student defines leisure pedagogy and places it in the system of other pedagogical disciplines, describes leisure activities and subjects offering leisure activities, is familiar with the current trends in leisure and research in the field of leisure for children and youth.
