The subject provides basic information on leisure-time education; the overview of the basic terms. Leisure education will be viewed as the process of teaching knowledge and skills about a number of activities, and as the process of educating people of the importance of leisure by providing opportunities for participation; it will be viewed in terms of process rather than content. Leisure education models - including leisure awareness, self-awareness, social skills, leisure skills, and leisure resources - will be discussed. The course introduces leisure education as a significant component of leisure-service delivery in various settings.

The main goal of the course is to introduce leisure education as a valuable tool for improving the overall quality of life. The student defines leisure education and puts it into the system of other educational disciplines, describes leisure activities and subjects offering leisure activities, He/she is familiar with current trends in leisure time and research in the field of leisure time of children and youth.
