The objective of the course is to draw students´ attention to the importance of environmental studies with the emphasis on interdependence of both individuals as well as populations and the environmental issues. Defining basic terms and objectives of environmental studies. Environmental studies within the Framework Education Programme. Anthropogenic impact on environment (atmosphere, hydrosphere, pedosphere). Environment and health. The common responsibility for the environment. Voluntary agreements and attitude to protecting the environment. Global issues. Consumer education. Environment and children.Integrating environmental issues into practical education and vocational training.

The aim of the course is to present current global problems of the environment with emphasis on subjective perception of the environment and its effects on human health.
