The subject presents the basic paradigms of health promotion. More specifically addresses the issue of education for proper nutrition as an essential part of human life, which significantly affects human health. The syllabus of the subject is based on systematic analysis of nutritive value of foods. Attention is given to the nutrients content in food and energy value of food.

The aim of the course is to inform students about the possibilities of promoting health through proper nutrition and eating and the role of schools in the process concerning development of the health awareness.
