The purpose of this subject is to familiarise the students with different areas of ergotherapy, their functions and selected work techniques. The subject illustrates the definition of the concepts associated with ergotherapy, mainly the work therapy, encouragement through activities, and ergodiagnostics. Students monitor the development and the current state of ergotherapy in the Czech Republic and selected countries. Students learn the grounds of conditional ergotherapy, ergotherapy targeted at the affected area, and ergotherapy focused on work integration and education leading to self-sufficiency.

1. Definition of ergotherapy-related notions, especially occupational therapy, treatment using work activities, activity-based activization, ergodiagnostics.

2. Development and present state of ergotherapy in the Czech Republic and selected countries.

3. Basics of condition ergotherapy, ergotherapy targeted at the affected area, ergotherapy targeted at occupational integration and education to self-sufficiency.

4. Work methods, means and selected tests used in ergotherapy.

5. Ergotherapy specifics in child clients and addiction treatment.
