The aim of the course is to acquire an overview of the most important works of instructional literature for piano and strings. The content is both acquaintance with the whole range of Czech and world instructive literature of the Baroque, Classicism, Romanticism and the 20th century up to the present, as well as practical study and interpretation of key works. Deeper attention will be paid to the instructional works of the most important authors such as J.S. Bach, W.A. Mozart, M. Clementi, C. Czerny, R. Schumann, P. I. Tchaikovsky, B. Bartók, S. Prokofjev, B. Martinů. Practical study will allow a deeper insight into the structure and content of important works of instructional literature and dealing with the issue of their didactic approach. Attention will also be paid to the stylistic diversity and richness of instructional literature and the means that can be used to interpret it.
