  1.) The Importance of

                 Community Music

Globally, Community Music (CM) is a growing area of dynamic research. This session begins with a brief discussion  of the many facets of CM and then provides an overview of one example of how the power of music can dramatically change the quality of life for Persons with Dementia.

2.) Conceptualizing, Developing and Maintaining a New Musical Organization

In this session we discuss the steps required to start a new arts' organization, and explore the organizational, administrative, economic and artistic aspects of starting such an endeavor

3.) Managing Artists

An artist's success depends on their ability to be sought after on stage. However, being a performer requires much more than showing off one's skills before a receptive audience. Issues such as management, touring, recording, copyright, finances, arranging logistics, and planning and rehearsing/polishing the optimal program(s) all must be covered before the practice even begins.

4.) The Role, Timing and Place of Competition for Amateur and Professional Artists

Motivating, and sometimes demotivating, this session reviews the challenges  musicians, (from children through to the professional) experience into this genre of performance.

5.) Educational Concerts

This session explores how educational concerts by professionals and ensembles may promote increased youth participation in music, as well as provide equity in accessibility to professional arts' experiences for all students.
